What is Explorations?
Explorations Learning Center believes that integrating core content into high-interest and hands-on subjects is the most effective way to prepare students for the real world and foster a life long love of learning.
Our mission is to captivate students with fun, engaging, and carefully planned courses to promote critical thinking and acquisition of practical life skills. All lessons are immersive experiences where students create and innovate by manipulating the materials in front of them.
Our goal is to walk alongside homeschool families to support and enrich their student's education. All school-aged students are welcome to enroll in any one of the varied private classes we offer. Courses will be offered as a six week series, with new classes added after each block. Check our calendar frequently to see new course offerings.
Explorations is a registered vendor through both Idea and Connection's Academy and course fees can be paid directly through them. Students will register for a complete six week course.
Course fees cover all instruction and materials for the six weeks. Each session block we will showcase what students have learned and produced through the course by welcoming families to attend a Celebration of Learning.

For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about helping children discover the joy of learning. My years teaching in public schools in Idaho and Alaska allowed me to witness firsthand the power of hands-on, integrated lessons that spark curiosity, build confidence, and prepare students for the future.
After retiring from public education, I was given the amazing opportunity to work alongside Ryan Martin to create high-interest enrichment classes for homeschool students. These classes are designed to complement and enhance the core learning taking place at home.
Student-centered courses provide rich experiences in culinary, visual and performance arts, as well as scientific discovery to foster connections to the real world.
Now, as owner, I am honored to carry this program forward and continue serving homeschool families by providing enriching, hands-on learning experiences that help students discover new interests, develop confidence, and cultivate a lifelong love of learning.
